Background:
Nayler Recruitment is one of Australia’s fastest growing and most successful recruitment companies. Visionary Managing Director Eric Clementson realised that sustained growth and real competitive advantage would require some radical rethinking of how the business operates, how information is captured and used in the business.

In early 2007, Nayler approached Salesnet to help determine whether options existed to the traditional paper based data collection and filing methods currently in use. Having recently formed a strategic partnership with Malaysian DPP firm BigAnt, Salesnet was able to quickly demonstrate the power and versatility of Digital Pen and Paper. What became evident to both Nayler and Salesnet is that DPP would be the launching pad for the introduction of sophisticated technology that would transform Nayler’s business.

The Solution

Working closely with the business Salesnet was able to take a package of existing business forms and turn these into digital documents. This included a notes page where free-form hand written notes were also captured.

The business forms represented the heart of how Nayler interviewed and assessed candidates during face to face meetings. Specific details about education, work history, future goals, and salary package details are all captured by Salesnet’s DPP solution and automatically loaded into Nayler’s CRM system. Each specific attribute becomes a unique entry in the CRM and is searchable by other consultants within minutes of an interview being completed.

Business Outcomes

  • The ROI for Nayler has been exceptional. Nayler has been able to reduce their floor space under lease by 45% due to the removal of a large filing compactus and dozens of filing cabinets.
  • Core business forms were replicated exactly as they were in non-digital format, meaning users had no problem adapting to the digital format. They simply started using a Digital Pen and kept working as normal
  • Rather than relying on the memory of consultants regarding candidates, Nayler has a rich, searchable database comprising hundreds of data attributes. This depth and richness of information means Nayler can undertake extremely complex searches across their candidate database to help clients fill vacancies quickly.
